Case Study 2

Identifying Leak and Leak Risks of London Churches

Two churches in London separately contacted us. One had a significant leak in their roof which neither they, nor their roofers, could not locate the cause of. The other needed a roof inspection to assess any damage or issues caused by Storm Eunice.

Closely flying the church with the leak revealed that a single large ridge tile had been lost and exposing a large hole to the weather, where precipitation was then working its way into the interior ridge space and causing significant water damage.

The inspection of the second churches’ roof showed that their roof and spire were in excellent condition. However, when images were analysed in the postproduction stage it was clear that a significant amount of water was pooling at the base of the spire, risking water ingress and the potential for £’000s of damage. By identifying the risk early the issue has now been resolved at a notional cost by clearing the drainage area.

The team at S4G Drone Services were very polite and professional, explaining all parts of their service. They provided us with an accurate survey of the roof which saved us a lot of money on getting scaffolding and licences just to check what the condition of the roof is. With their survey we can approach several roofing companies for quotes rather than be tied to the one who provided scaffolding to check what the condition of the roof is. I would definitely book them again

The survey focussed effectively on areas of the roof which we had particularly specified. The survey report was clear and concise, with good links to the videos obtained. Commendable service
